Description: Rare opportunity to own a Brunswick Pool Table 1928 Conqueror 5x10, original ball return model, no modifications. This table is a rare survivor from the golden era of billiards in America. These jumbo frame tables represented the high-water mark for American craftsmanship. Each table was handcrafted in Illinois. This table was family owned and spent most of its life in an estate in New York. This table has been fully restored. This table is the finest example of the Conqueror with the fully optioned upgrade of 1 1/2 inch slate and ball return. This table was built in the era where a 2x4 actually measured a true 2"x4". The slate is in perfect condition and actually measures out closer to 2" than 1 1/2, no shortcuts were taken when Brunswick built this table. This is the best pool table money could buy in the roaring 1920's. The table weighs approximately 3,000 lbs. The Brunswick Conqueror was the table William Randolph Hearst selected for the Billiard Room in Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. This table is the same 5x10 model with ball return that is in Hearst Castle today. The table plays perfectly with all new rubber, 5" pockets and the finest quality new Simonis 860 in a perfectly matched olive green color. The table plays fast and the balls roll silent because of the thick slate and robust construction. This is a generational heirloom table, representing the best of American Art Deco design and American craftsmanship. This museum quality table is historically significant and will provide years of exceptional playing experience.
