Thus a strong case can be made that this is the definitive recording of the 9th from a man who knew and worked with Gustav Mahler for a long time. Present at Mahler's deathbed when he died, Bruno Walter conducted the world premier of the 9th Symphony on February 6, 1912, with the Vienna Philharmonic. Booklet in Japanese except for titles.
