Description: [British Communism] 1923 Pamphlet “The Russian Revolution A Narrative And A Guide For Reading” By Robert Page Arnot 36pp plus thin orange card titled covers, published in 1923 by The Labour Research Department (of which Arnot was the Secretary). Arnot was a conscientious objector during the First World War and served two years in the Wakefield Work Centre. He was freed in 1919 and returned to his post as Secretary of the Labour Research Department. In 1920 he founded the Communist Party of Great Britain and co-founder of “Labour Monthly”. In 1925 he was among the 12 communists charged under the Incitement to Mutiny Act of 1797, serving 6 months in prison. Approx. 140x215mm., single rusted staple resulting in the centre four pages becoming detached, light grime to covers the rear slightly clipped in upper left corner.
