Description: Stunning Framed Oil on Canvass by renowned and award winning Maryland-based artist Hiu Lai Chong of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Facing Westward entitled "Bring Me Home." How Hiu Lai Chong captures the light reflecting from the waves is absolutely breathtaking and her technique and perspective are masterful. This is an original painting and captures the Artist's first and best impressions of the epic scenery she so vividly captured. The size is 30" by 17 1/2." Purchased at the Easton Plein Art Festival in 2014, this is being sold by the Original Owner, a Naval Officer who was stationed in Annapolis, Maryland. Here is the Artist's own rendition of painting it: (1) when you painted it (date, time of day); Evening of 7/13/2014 (2) what inspired the painting; I was inspired by the dramatic light and color over the Bay Bridge. (3) how long it took you to paint; I checked the forecast for the sunset time the day before and arrived at the scene in the late afternoon. I started sketching-in the main composition and waited until the light moved on the bridge, I started working on the glowing lights and work my way through until it got dark. I checked the painting the next day and made sure everything looked okay in normal lighting. (4) where you painted it and whether still photography was used; I painted by the Hemingway's restaurant near the Bay Bridge, no photography was used. But I did take a lot of photos as a reference for future use on larger studio paintings. (5) any other details about the work you think are noteworthy or otherwise worth mentioning. It was quiet a windy and active day and I was amazed that some brave sailors came out to race. I'm also amazed how fast a distant tanker moved across and under the bridge.
