Description: This is a somewhat mysterious, business cover(w/some stains/toning here and there, but few tears) sent on January 22, 1876, from Brescia, Lombardy, Italy, to Trieste, Austria, and paid for with an Austrian, 5-Kreuzer definitive(in fine condition!)! The sender was an Angelo Duina Fugio(a neat, company cachet!), a business in Brescia. The addressee was an ethnic Greek, a D.M. Vlassopulo. As Lombardy-Venetia was under the control of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1815-66, but NOT in 1876, the use of an Austrian stamp was illegal! For some reason, the stamp was not cancelled. Noted imperfections aside, this cover remains a very attractive piece of Austrian and Italian(Lombardian) postal history!
