Description: Up for sale is a steering wheel contact pin for a variety of classic BMW's from 1968 to 1991. This is a new reproduction part made for the DIY minded individuals. The design is effectively the same as the original, with a thicker mounting flange and an increased diameter on the body for improved rigidity. After replacing by contact pin with a couple of used units that broke much in the same way, I set out to make a new replacement that would not have the same issues. The result is a solid part that makes replacement straightforward. Instead of riveting in the replacement, the provided stainless steel hardware makes installation possible with simple tools, eliminating the possibility of cracking the plastic during the riveting process. These are no longer available from BMW and are few and far at the BMW parts distributors. As mentioned, these contact pins were found on many models from 1968 to the early 1990's.
