It was introduced for the 1976 Racing Season and manufactured between 1976 and 1977 with only 31 built. It was successful in winning races throughout the late '70s both in Europe and in the US. Alan Hamilton of the Australian Porsche Distributor at the time competed one and won the 1977 Australian Sports Car Championship, and in 1980 the same 934 RSR won the same title with Allan Moffat behind the wheel. The 934 has a top speed approaching 300 km/h and has a zero to 100km/h time of 3.9 seconds.
