Description: This is a Belforte military watch that was made in April 1965 by Benrus. Belforte was the Benrus "lower" line of watches. It has the green plastic case with no cracks. There are some light scratches. The movement is a Belforte 11 KIF with 7 jewels [non-hacking]. It was just serviced and it running really well. Keeps time to under 1 minute a day. The movement was disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, re-assembled and oiled. It did not get a new mainspring. Original dial in very good condition with some marker loss at the bottom. Original hands with faded original paint. The luminous has been replaced on the hour and minute hands. The hands on this model are thinner than most of the other 1960s military watches and are very hard to find. I noticed that there is an example of this watch in Whitney's Military Timepieces book and the example he has in the photo has no hands. I don't think this movement was used in any other military watches.Excellent crown and crystal. Comes with a nylon band in good used condition. which I believe is original. This is a very hard to find watch, much less common than the Benrus or Hamilton watches from the same era. I have seen a reference to this watch being "pre-spec" , I don't know if that is correct but it does not have the normal military spec number and it does not have the company name on the case. It will be shipped in a box. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
