Belt Grinder- DIY plans and drawings

Description: For sale: are the plans and drawings to build a 2" x 72" belt grinder or belt sander as they are called. A must have tool for knife makers or for any woodworking or metal shop. With its 2HP motor, this model would work nicely in a commercial shop too. It is a smooth, solid machine, it does not shake or vibrate while running. This belt grinder also tilts 90 degrees to lay horizontal and works great in that position too, see the pictures that show the hinges. I went looking for a more powerful belt grinder for my shop but found them to be too expensive, so I designed and built one myself at one third the cost. You too can save a lot of money by building this can't do without tool. The advantage of this design is that you don't need to do any welding to assemble it. All parts are secured with zinc or stainless steel bolts (your choice). Yes you will need some metal working skill to build it, but mostly you will need the desire to work with steel and bring the project to completion (I didn't have a whole lot of metal working experience but I am a good wood worker). An electric hand held grinder with a metal cutting blade is a must for cutting the steel into the parts needed although I used a chop saw with a metal cutting blade (It took some time to cut and got very hot that way but it worked nicely). Of course you'll need a good drill press that can drill 90 degrees to the surface accurately and you will need the ability (and the tools) to tap new threads into steel and aluminum. With this purchase you will get a file emailed to you containing all detailed diagrams at various angles. You will note the clear depiction of dimensions. It will be in PDF format so you will need to be able to open that and you will positively need to be able to read plans to understand it. You can print the drawings and you can enlarge them for a better view. Everything is precisely laid out for you. If needed, I can supply you with additional pictures of sections of the belt grinder that you might need clarity on and of course I can help guide you if you need more insight or assistance with the build or with obtaining parts.
