Description: beautiful antique 19th-century Prague cello--"The Redemption Cello". This is a beautiful instrument with a dramatic story. Originally crafted in the 19th century in Prague, it was involved in a car accident in Italy in 1921, and was painstakingly restored by Italian instrument makers to its original quality. The cosmetic scars the cello still shows are a testament to its name--"The Redemption Cello"--without affecting the integrity or acoustic quality of the instrument. Included in the photos is a professional appraisal of the cello at $12,500 (in 2010). This is the cello I used to compete at the highest national level as an adolescent and young adult growing up in the Napa Valley and studying with internationally renowned teacher Irene Sharp at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. It is truly an heirloom quality instrument with a story to match. I am selling because I rarely find the time to play, and I don't want this beautiful instrument to go to waste sitting in a closet!
