It is an important and necessary part of a goods train, AKA a freight train! This item is discontinued and no longer available from Bachmann, with the only other Thomas brake vans available are Toad and the Spiteful Brake Van, who are individual characters with faces. There is currently no generic Thomas Brake Van available, and no way to easily get a regular Thomas Brake Van! In addition, the Bachmann Thomas line is compatible with the Hornby Railways range in the UK due to them having hook-and-loop couplers.
