Bowen, Philadelphia, 1840-44. The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of John James Audubon and features strictly hand-coloring. The credits are in italics, as required for royal octavos numbered 151-500. Includes Audubon's bird biography for Bachman's Pinewood Finch.
