Description: Asylum Piece by Anna Kavan, in its first U.S. edition published by Doubleday (New York, 1946). This edition is also the first U.S. printing of I Am Lazarus. A near fine hardcover book, almost fine except for slight browning to the edges of the boards, with clean and bright pages, in a good dust jacket (retaining original price: $2.50) with general age toning/spotting to the front panel and spine (the back panel and flaps are much nicer) and minor chipping at the extremities.
