Description: James Francis Byrnes [1882 1972] was a lawyer, politician, prominent American statesman from South Carolina who was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and served from 191941 until 1942. Byrnes also served as the 104th Governor of South Carolins, 49th Secretary of State, member of the House of Representatives and U.S. Senator from South Carolina. his death in 1939. Listed for auction is the autograph of James Francis Byrnes signed on a Supreme Court autograph card. The autograph is signed ''James F. Byrnes'' in black fountain pen and the card measures 4.25 x 3.25 inches and is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic, rare to find on a court card, he served only one year on the Supreme Court, and is ideal for display.
