He graduated from The Minneapolis School of the Arts and had a 30-year career in commercial art; including 15 years as the art director of his own studio. Sherman was born January 15, 1919 in Danvers, Minnesota and died in September 14, 1989. He is buried in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
