See scan for track listing.Three newly-discovered tracks by country music's very first recording artist, the legendary fiddler Eck Robertson, headline this collection of previously unissued recordings created during the postwar period in Phoenix, Arizona. Robertson’s stirring renditions of his signature tunes "Sally Gooden", "Texas Waggoner" plus "Lost Indian" provide a welcome addition to his otherwise scant catalog. Robertson’s singles, all recorded between 1922 and 1929, were groundbreaking in their genre. His last session in 1929 produced a song that 25 years later would be included in Harry Smith's enormously influential Anthology Of American Folk Music. Robertson was also recently featured in the epic 2019 Ken Burns documentary Country Music as the first country artist to enter a recording studio (in 1922). With the exception of a handful of 1963 field recordings from late in Robertson’s life, and several live festival tracks also from the 1960s, no other music from the Amarillo, Texas native is known to exist.
