The contrast control of this paper is adjustable from grade 0 through grade 5, using standard Ilford Multigrade or Kodak Polymax/Polycontrast filters. You can also use an enlarger color head by tweaking the amount of magenta or yellow filters. This high-quality paper is specifically designed for use with tungsten or tungsten quartz halogen light sources, although other light sources may yield different contrast values. The exposure of the paper is straightforward, depending on the filter system in use. When handling the Arista.EDU Ultra FB VC, ensure you're in a photographic darkroom illuminated by standard OC, red, or sodium vapor safelights. Maintain a minimum distance of 3 feet from the paper to the safelights and limit exposure to safelights as much as possible. The Arista.EDU Ultra FB VC can be processed in trays or processing machines approved for photographic papers on a baryta base. It can be developed in any standard black and white photographic paper developer, with a recommended development time of 90 - 120 seconds at 68 Degree F/20 Degree C. After development, a standard stop bath can be used to halt the process and extend the fixer's life. The fixed prints should then be washed in running water for 35-45 minutes. For optimal preservation, store the paper in a cool, dry place, or for prolonged storage, a freezer can be used.
