Description: This vintage camera belonged to my father and was well cared for. The leather case is in very good condition showing minimal wear. The attached paperwork includes a tag stating that the optics are coated with magnesium fluoride increasing lens speed 16% compared with an uncoated lens. The coated lens also increases the contrast between the subject and background, increases clarity, resolving power, freedom from ghost images and flare, improves shadow detail and with color film, gives better color fidelity. The anastigmat designation indicates the lens corrects for spherical aberration, coma, and astigmatism and this lens has a 50 mm focal length. The instruction book includes a picture naming each part, brief instructions, suggestions on how to correctly judge exposure, how to focus for sharp pictures, how to load the film, an outdoor exposure table, depth of field tables and the guaranteed and service policy offered by Argus of Ann Arbor Michigan. Inside the camera are located the model number A2B and serial number 163683. The serial number indicates it was produced in 1948. All knobs and levers turn freely. Without film, I am unable to verify the operational status. The camera and case and in very good condition as described above. Some close-up photos appear dark but that is shiny metal parts reflecting the surroundings and the photographer. Please see all pictures Shipping is free in the continental US.
