Description: Great collection from Aretha's earlier career singing soul and R&B for six years with Columbia Records, before she went to Atlantic and had her huge hits like "Respect." I LOVE her versions of "You Made Me Love You" and "Cry Like A Baby", OH and her cover of Dinah Washington's classic "I Won't Cry Anymore" is fantastic....she's got some really cool, high quality older material here that I like just as much (or more!) as her more high profile recordings.(Side note, if you like Amy Winehouse, the song "Two Sides Of Love" definitely shows me that early Aretha was a big Amy influence.) Love the gatefold album here, cool cover with one big photo front to back (see pics). The liner notes (a lot of them since it's a big gatefold sleeve) are AWESOME. Very interesting read. This is a quality set from 1981 and I've taken great care of it. We playtested this in full, both discs. We grade them Excellent; sound quality overall is great, just the occasional very soft pip or pop, and there are no skips or issues or consistent static/"snap crackle pop". LPs both look clean and glossy. Gatefold cover looks good too, nice and clean with only light wear. One price sticker. There are price stickers on both discs (one per record). No smells, stains, fading or tears/splits. Grade is VG+. We send LPs via USPS media mail, very safely packed.
