Winsor & Newton metal plate attached. Brass escutcheons for closing are present, one in tact, one loose.Hinges work well.Wood is in good shape, no cracks or splits. Wooden palette fits into the case.Small mixing cups included. Slots in the lid for small canvas boards for plein air painting. Handle is missing, artist used twine to create a replacement. This is a genuine antique and a family heirloom.Can be used as a painters box, display item or prop.
