Description: For sale is an Antique / Vintage primitive Hooked rug with decorative center design of a lake side house surrounded by flower baskets. Nice colors with the relaxing country aesthetic. The fabric is very thick and sturdy. The rug is in great condition. Intact with little wear. 38" diameter American hooked rugs began to be created in the 1840's and were a frugal way of making rugs using extra bits of fabric or pieces of old clothes. They often used a burlap backing as that was readily available from feedsacks. Large amounts of hooked rugs were made in the US from 1900-1950. The overall history of hooked rugs goes back centuries.
