Description: Antique Victorian Portrait Brooch Cameo Hand Painted Gold Pin We offer for sale this lovely antique Victorian hand painted miniature portrait brooch depicting a young woman wearing a plaid tartan in a rolled gold mounting. The painting is well done and in good vintage condition with minor wear, some tiny surface scratches, honest wear consistent with age and use. Brooch is mid Victorian. It measures approximately 1 3/4" x 1 1/2”. It's closes with a rollover safety clasp. The pin and hinge are replacements for the original C clasp and hinge. Metal was built up and reinforced when repair was made. At the time it was made, it would have had a C clasp and elongated pin which extended beyond the brooch mount. Mount has patina consistent with age and use back has some tarnish. See photos. It could use polishing. It is unmarked and unsigned. It has been gently cleaned. It was purchased from an estate.
