Description: Fine antique Victorian to early Edwardian era 18 3/4" tall miniature vitrine, a relic or reliquary shrine or display cabinet with warm aged finish to the solid wood framework and in wonderful condition! A bit of a mystery here but the end use is really up to you. In the style of the Catholic reliquary shrines with glass windows on front and sides. Access to the interior is actually via a door on the back, original old brass or bronze latch intact. The entire flared top lifts off completely, the only function I can see for that is that the glass slides up out of the top slots for easy cleaning(?) 18 3/4" in total height, including the finial, the interior measurements are 10 1/4" tall, 7 5/8" wide and 5 1/4" deep. Very good condition. Some old powderpost beetle/bug holes visible but nothing active. A few karkened marks to the wood but just as you'd expect given its age. See images for all measurements.
