Description: This pretty antique Victorian hand painted watercolor of flowers with a transcription written up the side was recently found in an old St. Louis estate. It was signed by the painter and is dated 1833. The flowers are Forget-me-nots which were a symbol in Victorian times of true love and devotion and were often given to that special someone to declare their love. We wonder who the recipient was of this charming painting. It is in a gilded frame with glass and has a purple mat which compliments the color of the flowers. The frame shows age related wear as expected and considering the painting is nearly 200 years old, it is in amazingly good condtion with slight yellowing of the paper.
