Description: Beautiful, antique spool cotton thread box with terrific blue & red graphics! Pennant three cord thread with a silk finish manufactured by Blodgett & Orswell Co in Pawtucket RI in the early 1900s. Box is empty but would have held 40 spools of white thread. Patent date for box on top inside edge. What a wonderful sewing notion collectible! Box measures 7" x 3" with a 1 1/4" depth. Lid lifts off of box. Bottom of box contains a wax paper liner that is attached & shows slight wear due to spools resting on it. Lid contains patent date for the box of May 26, 1910 on the edge. Price is reflective of this. The box was manufactured by the Mason Box Company out of Massachusetts. Some light patina to box due to age but graphics are vibrant & legible - quite pretty, actually! The box is fully intact with no tears or breaks but does have light wear on two of the edges. There is some faint pencil writing (someone doing quick addition) on the bottom of the box. Overall box is in very good antique condition & looks lovely on display!CHECK OUT MY MANY OTHER VINTAGE LISTINGS BY CLICKING ON "Seller's Other Items" AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE!!!
