Description: Up for sale is an original antique solid brass ship's porthole. This dates form the early part of the 1900's. The porthole could be marked by the maker but I am not able to find any marks because it has been painted over the years. The paint can easily be stripped off if you desire to do so. The thick glass has a tint on it and this also can be removed. This porthole is the real deal and not a cheap aftermarket or reproduction. Has three dog arms to hold down the cover. One of the dog arms is broken but nothing major and can be replaced(Please see photos). The cover also holds down with only two. It is made of solid brass and has a nice patina. Measures approx. 15" in total width including the brass frame by 4 1/2" tall. The glass measures 10". No other broken parts, no repairs, no cracks and the door opens and closes as it should. Weighs 32 pounds unpacked. Being sold as found and as seen in the photos. Would look great in any nautical/maritime decor or tiki bar. Rare item and is a must for any collector. Glare spots are from the lights reflections and NOT on the actual surface. Will be shipped well to insure safe delivery.
