Description: Up for sale is very impressive silver-plated serving tray made in USA by The Sheffield Silver Company in 1920's. The Sheffield Silver Company was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1908. They created a wide range of silver serving pieces including coffee and tea sets, trays, platters and tableware. They were in business until 1935 when they got bought by Farber Bothers. This excellent craftmanship oval tray standing on four lovely ornated legs has beautifully casted handles in Rococo style with typical Rococo elements: seashells, acanthus leaves and scrolls. The body chased with foliage and flowers motifs has scalloped border that is also beautifully embossed in Rococo style. The center of the body has a blank cartouche and the tray is ready for personalizing. It is perfect for your tea or coffee service but it also can be used for serving drinks, etc. This solid piece measuring stunning 22" in length (with handles) and 16 1/4" wide is very sturdy and heavy. Although there are some mini-scratches due to age, the tray is in excellent very well preserved condition with no damages to note. It still has an original sticker on it.
