Description: This fascinating woolwork "woolie" picture of HMY Victoria & Albert is an original piece of folk art that has been hand made by a sailor in the 19th century. HMY Victoria and Albert was a royal yacht of the UK Royal Navy which launched in 1855 and was scrapped around 1904. The 360 foot steamer was used by Queen Victoria in 1855. This woolie which is 40 cm in length comes framed and glazed. The back has some writing from a previous owner which says "HMY Victoria & Albert Silkwork c1920." but we believe it to be older. Date: 19th century. Dimensions: Length: 40 cm (15 3/4"). Height: 31.5 cm (12 1/2"). Weight: 1134 g. Condition: Very good antique condition with some age related wear, marks and fading. Glass is in good condition. Frame has some age related wear and nicks. The back has been re-taped. Please see pictures.
