Description: A massive, imposing and very antique chess set.Dating from the early 20th century (1900 - 1920), the king is 9.5 cm high, which is a large size for a Regency chess set.The pieces are made of boxwood. They are highly finished and sophisticated. They come with a massive period board, a magnificent piece of marquetry. The board is foldable, measuring 71 x 51.4 when unfolded. When closed, the board measures 51.4 x 35.5 x 10.3 cm.Note the highly detailed, sophisticated finishes on the knights and the patina of the pieces, which has taken a beautiful vintage aged look over time. The set has been well preserved, you will just find wear on the board, missing eyes on the knights and little imperfections on certain pieces, which are detailed at the end of the photo series. For shipping, I'll be using bubble wrap to protect everything, and the corners of the box will be reinforced with polystyrene foam, so everything will be immobilized and cushioned in the parcel.
