Description: Paucartambo/Q’ero Style Antique Peruvian Ceremonial Chullo Hat Purchased near the village of Calca, I searched all the markets of the villages in the surrounding areas for multiple weeks and saw nothing like this chullo. It was clearly much finer/older than the rest and was kept in surprisingly amazing condition by the previous owner. It is so well put together, finely woven and very strong. The Andean woman who sold it to me told me that she had had it in her collection for 25+ years and previously received it from her father. She told me it was up to 100 years old but obviously it is impossible to verify this. I believe this chullo to be at a minimum 25 years old conservatively speaking but possibly in the range of 40+ years old. *This is 1/2 designs of this type that I have
