Description: Antique Philippine Revolution Katipunan Officer Dagger 1896-1898 Measures 18-1/2" in overall length. Carbon steel blade measures 13-3/8" long. Cross guard and pommel made of brass with horn handle. The handle originally had twisted brass wire wrapped around it, but is now gone. No scabbard included. The Philippine Revolution was a conflict waged between Filipino revolutionaries and the Spanish colonial authorities in an attempt to win independence between 1896-1898. This was part of the collection of the late Dr. Richard Stein. I purchased part of the collection from the inheritor. He was a prominent knife collector and owner of the Japanese sword index website.
