Description: This is a fantastic and early Antique Old 19th c. Primitive American Folk Art COW Copper Weathervane, likely dating to the second half of the 19th century. I have done extensive research and cannot find an exact match to this artwork. I have found numerous cow weathervanes, but not this cow weathervane. This piece was pulled from an old barn in Pennsylvania in the 1950's, and remained in the family until I purchased it recently from a descendant of the previous owner. This piece is comprised of copper, with a wonderful and authentic patina throughout. There is also an old break at the lower mounting rod (please see photos.) This weathervane is bent at one side, creating a curvature in the cow's body, which is featured in my photos. Approximately 30 inches wide x 23 inches tall. Acquired from a family collection of Pennsylvanians in Los Angeles, California. Priced to Sell. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
