Description: This is a finely rendered and well done Antique Old 19th c. European Old Master Still Life Oil Painting on Artist Board, acquired from the collection of an 89-year-old woman in Irvine, California, who traveled to Holland in her youth and purchased several artworks. This piece depicts a colorful still life scene, with a vase of white flowers, cigarettes, a purple glass match striker, and what appears to be a bottle of Grand Marnier. This piece appears to be unsigned, but perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? There is an old Hungarian framer's label on the verso, which if fully intact would read: "KARDOS GABOR KEPKERET ES LECGYAR LERAKATA BUDAPEST VIR WESSELENYI-U.50." This piece likely dates from the 1900's - 1920's, and the painter is probably Hungarian. Approximately 12 1/2 x 15 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 8 3/4 x 11 1/4 inches. Very good condition, with some light scuffing, edge wear, and gilding loss to the original period frame (please see photos.) If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
