Description: Antique Oil on Canvas painting done of the Roman Girl at a Fountain by Leon Bonnatlate 1800s to early 1900s I purchased this painting at an estate sale of an Art Appraiser in the Chicago area approximately 10 years ago. I was told at the time that it was most likely painted during the late 1800s to early 1900s. Whoever painted it signed it with the original artist's name and not their own. Granted if this WAS by Leon Bonnat then I must have gotten a good deal haha It is possible the person who painted this signed it somewhere that is now hidden by the frame. The frame looks much newer than the wood the canvas is mounted on. The painting is very dark and there is some damage. There are 3 tears and 1 larger size hole. Please look closely at the canvas for more detail. In the photos above, the 1st picture is with flash and the 2nd one without a flash. I have more photos if you are interested.
