Description & Condition: Art Collection of Carl PuglieseCarl was an American painter and illustrator who was friends with other illustrators including Norman Price, Tom Lovell, Dean Cornwell, Howard Pyle, J C Leyendecker and many others. I will be listing many pieces from his collection.Norman Price New York artist (1877-1951)Up for sale is this antique original 1951 gouache on board illustration painting. It is titled "The Adoption of the Declaration" by Norman price for Collier's magazine. It depicts Daniel Webster giving a fiery speech with other politicians around him. There is a large American flag hanging on the wall and arched windows behind him. Some of the other politicians are identified below including president John Quincy Adams, John Kirkland, Josiah Quincy lll mayor of Boston and Levi London. It is in good condition and measures 30" by 20" and is signed in lower left. There are other notations along the top and residue of tape along the edges. There is a Collier's stamp and a paper label on the reverse. A great one of a kind piece! Please view all the photos and if you have any questions please ask.
