It could be used for the original function it had as a trivet or to display special items on top or for hanging on the wall as it makes a nice display. Your imagination is the limit! It can be fashioned any way you want to - that is the fun of it! It measures approx 6" Wide and just short of .75" Tall. It is very similar to the French Wire Trivets you see - this one is most likely Made in the USA in the early 1900s. We have also listed another identical one. We would be happy to combine for discount shipping. It has a great folksy look and is older and folkier than most you will find with a great patina!
