After his death in 1910, the collection was donated to local institutions where it has sat for the last 100+ years. The collection covers many styles of works over numerous centuries so be sure to check back regularly for new listings. This listing is for a large mezzotint engraving dating to the late 17th century . It depicts Madame D’Avenant which was engraved by John Smith done after G. Kneller. Impression measures 13.5” x 10.25”’and sheet measures about 21” x 15”. It appears to have been framed before as there is some toning from a former mat and scattered light stains as seen in the photos . Also one tiny tear along top edge of the sheet .
