The design is quite ornate , with large shaped vignettes containing flowers worked in Filet lace and other vignettes with Needlelace cherubim playing musical instruments. The area with all the design measures approx 23” deep and so there is masses of work on this cloth..raised Satin Stitch Embroidery, Cutwork and Reticella work throughout. This came from an important estate in the US, the person owned some of the very best linens, their collection was superb. This cloth seems only rarely used and was probably stored in acid free storage and seems laundered.In good strong condition, there might be a few totally minor separations that I dont see, but because it is so ornate ,one would not notice.
