Description: Leather Cameo or Portrait Display/Presentation Box. This is an exceptional case in almost excellent condition, as is the pendant. I was always waiting for the right miniature portrait on porcelain, or unique cameo, to fit into this oval pendant; yet, it was never to be found. Gold tone closure clasps on front of case. Snaps tightly shut. Both hinges on the sides are in excellent working order. The case measures approximately 3 1/4 x 4 inches. Burgundy silk and velvet interior. Indentation in the velvet holds a lined ovoid pendant. Domed glass face. Back of the pendant is covered in green velvet. The pendant measures approximately 1 7/8 x 2 1/4 inch.There are four small pins that fit through the sides of the frame, holding the backing in place. There is an indentation (stamp?) on the reverse above the easel that appears to possibly be a flower. It could be a makers mark; yet, it is nearly impossible to decipher. There is evidence of possibly a price tag being removed (not by me) from the upper left corner of the back above the easel (see photo).
