Description: Antique Large Brass Minangkabau Malay Brass Lidded Vase Jar. Made c.1800s in Sumatra using what is called the lost wax process. A beautiful piece with many decorative panels that include cattle and birds in dense ornate foliage. The jars were made to hold oil. Repair noted to the fill in void in brass on the lid. One spot on the rim where there is a large casting void. This is a scarce item. Approximately 12.75” tall with the lid.
