Description: This is a late Georgian antique knife box, 1780-1820. The box is made out of walnut, later version were made out of mahogany, with a sloping lid and a curved front. It has been transformed into a mailing or paper box. The box has the original finish and shows all the normal signs of age: wood shrinking, closure gaps, missing veneer, as can be seen in the attached photos. Size: 14.5” x 11” x 8.5”
