Description: Antique Kittinger Half Circle Desk. Mid 20th Century Kittinger Federal Revival Style Receptionist Desk. The desk is finished in a walnut shade, the top in a half circle form, rising on ring & vase turned legs. From 1937 Onward Kittinger was best known for it's high quality furniture in the American Colonial and Federal styles. This piece is patterned after a late 18th Century Wine tasting/Huntboard type table. Kittinger is known for being a premier provider of fine furnishings to places like the US Capitol. I, in fact, bought this in the Washington D.C. area 40 years ago, and liked to imagine it was there. Plate in drawer reads: Kittinger Furniture Craftsmen since 1866 Pattern #T727-2-3TYR-YORK. This is a very elegant piece. It has a center drawer, left side drop down and right side run off/typing extension. Beautiful brass wheels and a panel that wraps around to hide the users legs. Some say it needs to be refinished and some say it has character. MEASUREMENTS HALF CIRCLE Half Circle: 69 3/4" wide Writing Surface Depth 18" on the curve. Left Drop Down 12"Height from Floor: 29" MEASUREMENTS RIGHT SIDE TYPING EXTENSION:Length 36" Surface Depth approx. 18"Height from floor approx. 27"The typing extension can be removed. ADDITIONAL MEASUREMENTS: Imagine you are sitting behind the desk. The front of the desk is pushed against the wall. (so you are facing the wall) The left side of the desk measures from the wall to the end of drop down 47". The Right side with the typing extension measures 71". So left side almost 4 feet and right side almost 6' from the wall in front of you.* All references to Left Side- Right Side from the perspective of sitting behind the desk. I have enjoyed seeing and using this elegant desk 40 or so years. It makes me feel special and I have had so many compliments on this desk. I had to move to a small apt. and it just isn't working space wise. Unfortunately these photos do it the least possible justice. Try to focus on the details of the desk and not that awful room it was in. Here's hoping this treasure will find it's way to a person and a place that will love it as long as I have. She is almost 100 years old!LOCAL PICK UP OR BUYER PAYS SHIPPING.Murfreesboro, TNLocation is approximateSeller InformationDonna ParkerJoined Facebook in 2015
