Description: Offered here is a vintage/antique fire alarm box code/call mechanism made by the J.H. Bunnell Co. (the telegraph apparatus company started by Jesse H. Bunnell, one of the telegraphers to President Lincoln during the American Civil War). The activation lever is missing, but when the main stem is turned slightly with a pair of pliers, the mechanism runs well; running for several revolutions before automatically stopping.I suspect it would benefit from a cleaning and some oil.It is stamped, "J.H. Bunnell & Co., USA, Patent Pending"Please review the photos and ask questions.
