Description: This is a very rare antique Igbo Bush Hunter's walking stick / staff. Igbo people, also referred to as the Ibo, Ebo, Eboans or Heebo are an African tribal ethnic group living chiefly in South Eastern Nigeria. This very rare antique, small, tribally carved and used Igbo wooden hunter's walking staff was used by the men as they walked through the bush to hunt. Each staff had its own design which identified the owner. This piece has a small rusty metal piece on the end and when the hunter who owned this piece was not traveling the staff would be stabbed into the ground near where the owner was residing almost like a signature or sign saying 'This is where I am'. This antique staff measures 50.50 inches long and is in good tribally used condition with slight wear and cracks.
