Description: Antique French Silver Plate Flatware Set, Dinner Spoons and Forks, Ravinet & Cie, 24 pcs This exquisite French twenty-four piece flatware set, dating from the period 1912-1923, is designed in a handsome pattern of ribbons and acanthus leaves. The set is made up of 12 dinner spoons and 12 dinner forks. Each piece bears the maker’s mark of “Ravinet & Cie”, consisting of a clover leaf above the inscription “R. & Cie”, and the number “84”, indicating the silver content in grams. There is a second maker’s mark consisting of the initials “B.M.”. Louis Ravinet, master silversmith in Paris beginning in 1882, was in partnership between 1891 and 1912 with Charles Denfert, together they were awarded prizes at several international expositions. After 1912, the company became Ravinet et Cie and, after 1923, changed to Ravinet d’Enfert et Cie. This set is in very good condition, with the exception of superficial scratches and signs of normal use all due to its great age. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
