Description: Welcome to The Textile Trunk ~ Please follow us on Instagram we are @textiletrunk ~ So sweet !~ this is a slipcover or duvet cover that would have housed an antique French feather duvet! Small, these textiles were kept at the base of the bed and pulled up on chilly nights. The textile is constructed like a pillow slip, one side has buttons. The fabric dates c 1860, however the construction is much later, c 1900. You can see the person used the faded pieces to construct this textile! I love being able to have an idea of the textiles history based on the clues we find today! The ground tone is a sienna brown and the printing is red and off-white. This is a light to medium weight cotton , ideal for deconstructing for many projects MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures about 45 inches wide by 46 inches long. ~ CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with storage dust. This textile is unevely faded with time. There are some holes, some small stains and There are some GORGEOUS hand mends!! I love the mends!!! Again, visible signs of the textiles history!
