Description: Offered is this fabulous antique French Faience plate made by the Luneville factory c.1880. With much research, I found out this plate commemorates the 100 years of Lorraine taken back by France .It was dedicated to the Empress Eugenie, wife of Emperor Napoleon III who made a visit to Lorraine in 1866. This plate features the Royal Eagle with Crown, The Thistle flower which is the symbol of Lorraine and the Cross of Lorraine. It measures 9.25 inches wide and is in excellent antique condition with a flea bite on the rim that is not really seen when displayed. A fantastic addition to your collection.
