Description: This is an Antique FRANZISKA HIRSCH Dresden Hand Painted Flowers 8-5/8" Handled Pie Plate. It is 8-5/8" wide, 11" wide at the handles, 1-5/8" high to the top rim, and 2-1/4" high to the top of the handles. The Franziska Hirsch porcelain decorating studio in Dresden used the backmark seen on this plate from 1893-1898. This piece is a very unusual shape, a beautifully hand painted pie plate with extended handles for carrying, and an unglazed bottom. It may have originally been manufactured and sold for baking a pie, however, it should no longer be used in that way so it can be preserved in its currently outstanding condition. It is in fabulous condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or wear in the colors. Please view and magnify photos as they are part of the description. This is a previously used item and may show light signs of gentle use. Anything beyond that will be specifically noted in the description. Also, it is common for vintage items to have minor manufacturing imperfections in the pattern, trim, or glaze. More serious flaws will be noted in the description.
