Description: For sale is an usual piece of folk art pottery. Looks like a replica of greek statue, one that was found with damage and losses. The damage and losses on this appear to be intentional (at least the missing back of the head and losses to the nose). Has some Greek symbols on it. I'm not sure if that was a one off made piece or a production replica. Came from a noted American folk art collection (Brams out of NYC). I'd guess this was European though. I think 1930s-1950s but I'm not sure. 4 and 1/8 inches tall. Condition: Has a few flakes and flea bites. Worst is above the left ear in the hair. Has some other wear. Generally as made though. Made to have losses I guess to be similar to a greek statue. Does have some open bubbles in the area of the back of the head that is missing. I'm not sure if that happened when it was fired or it that was intentional. Looks like pops that you'd see in antique salt glaze pottery. No cracks. No repairs. See photos.
