Description: Up for your consideration is a VERY RARE ANTIQUE CREIL ET MONTEREAU "MODERNE" HAND PAINTED COMPOTE. The sinuous Art Nouveau design is hand painted in a lovely blue color. I have tried to research the age of this piece, but to no avail. From the look of it, I am guessing it was made sometime during the Belle Epoque (1890-1910).I purchased this compote from a couple in Lyons, France about 20 years ago. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There is one light mark in the bowl of the compote, the blue glaze is missing in one small area, and I found a couple very tiny glaze pops on the rim (see photos) 4 1/2" Tall9 1/8" in Diameter Thank you for looking, and please check out my other listings for more unique treasures.
